Canine Assisted Therapy (C.A.T.) is a 501(c)(3) and was founded in 2009 to address the need of companionship and to provide unconditional love to those in need in nursing homes, hospitals, hospice, etc. and to provide the much-needed support to pet therapy volunteers. We not only assess the dogs, but we provide ongoing training opportunities to our volunteers and assistance with placement into a facility. The organization has grown to include providing services to not only the elderly, but to youth and disabled individuals as well. In addition to the Animal Assisted Activities (AAA) that are provided in nursing facilities and hospitals, our programs now also include: Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT); Pack Readers; Teen Corps; Senior Corps; and Continuing Education To learn more, please go to our website at catdogs.org or call us at 954-319-3170
